Trees are beautiful even with wounds

In early spring, new shoots emerged from the traveler's palm, growing taller day by day. It grew so well that it rose above the other stems. Once it spread its broad leaves, it would become a magnificent tree, guiding travelers on their journey. However, the last 10 centimeters refused to unfold.

I thought it would eventually open up, so I carelessly spent several days waiting. Then, I gently loosened the curled part with my hands. Only then did the tree spread its leaves wide, as if released from shackles, experiencing freedom.

However, the leaves of the tree were already split. A wound once incurred would remain as a scar, unable to heal again. I felt so regretful that I cannot express how much I blamed myself. I wished I had helped it open sooner… Regret washed over me like a tide.

Nevertheless, the traveler's tree continued to thrive. Although the scars remained, the split marks did not detract from its beauty. In fact, the damaged appearance seemed even more admirable. Now, it is treated as the signature tree of my flower shop.

Some might point to the split leaves and try to bargain for a lower price. However, many more people will appreciate its charm without concern for its flaws. Expensive pines are often riddled with scars. Thus, trees grow magnificently despite their wounds, knowing how to turn scars into beauty.
